Harleys are for people with money and outward show. They are also for Baby Boomers who have money, success and trying their darnest to hang onto their memories from the 60’s. This means for Harley Davidson that "wealthy" customers rule the market. It is crazy but Harley-Davidson owns the market with all the Boomers still buying their bikes. Harley knows the company will still be there and will still sell motorcycles because of their loyal followers.
As far as these folks are concerned, age is not a factor. They believe Harley are the one and only motorcycle for them. Just think of some of the names for Harleys. Harley Fatboy kind of goes with the physical condition some of us represent. Then there is Harley Softail for those of us who need something soft to sit on. We know Harley V-Rod is an obviously arrogant, massive and cool cycle. However, Harleys aren't the fastest and controllable cycles, but riding a Harley is incomparable with riding any other motorcycle. Boomers or Yuppies, whatever we are prefer Harleys.
